Jennifer Leupp, LCSW

Are you questioning your sexuality or gender identity? Experiencing discrimination?

Maybe your family isn’t getting it or perhaps they have made some hurtful comments. You may be struggling to tell your loved ones about your identity, or are in the midst of figuring it out yourself. Perhaps you’re feeling sad, confused and alone.

Whatever it is that you’re experiencing, you’re beginning to notice the impact of this in every facet of your life:

  • Your confidence has taken a dive
  • You’re feeling isolated from your loved ones or co-workers
  • You’re feeling confused, hopeless, and alone.

LGBTQIA+ Affirmative Therapy can help.

It may feel impossible now, but you can figure things out. You can find yourself. You can build your confidence and find your community. And I can help you get there.

LGBTQIA+ Affirmative Therapy  helps you do 3 things:
  • Feel less confused and alone
  • Find yourself and your confidence
  • Learn the tools that will help you feel comfortable in your own skin, so you can connect with your community.

I’ll help through this process, tailoring each step to your unique needs and circumstances. My approach to LGBTQIA+ Affirmative Therapy comes from a place of relating and empowerment : believing that connecting with a Queer Therapist who has been through similar experiences can support you in your process.

Confusion and Isolation don’t have to be your story.

I can help you get there.

Q: What are LGBTQIA+ Affirmative Therapy sessions like?

A: First we will get to know one another.  I will ask you questions about your upbringing, your relationships, your medical history and what is going on with you currently and I will share about my own experiences when I feel it will be a help to you.  Then,  I will teach you cognitive and mindfulness techniques to help you feel more balanced and confident.  Lastly, We may decide to try EMDR, an evidence based trauma therapy to help you process any difficult memories.

Q: How long do I need to be in therapy?

A: The length of therapy is based on your individual needs. Some clients feel that a few months works for them while others prefer to stay for in therapy for years.  I am happy to provide therapy for you for as long as it feels like a good fit for good for both of us.

Q: How do I know if LGBTQIA+ Affirmative Therapy will work for me?

A: LGBTQIA+ Affirmative Therapy will work for you if you are feeling confused about your identity, if you are in the process of coming out, or  if you are experiencing homophobia or transphobia.  As a trained LGBTQIA+ Affirmative Therapist with personal experience being part of the queer community, I’d love to support you in figuring things out.

Q: How do we get started?

A: Call me for a free 15 minute consult.  On our call I will share about my approach and answer any questions you may have.  If we feel that we are a good fit for one another, we will book an initial intake session and and I will send you the intake forms online to complete before our first session.
