EMDR Therapy

Healing Trauma and Reclaiming Your Life

Are You Struggling with Painful Memories?

Do distressing memories from your past or patterns continue to surface, leaving you overwhelmed, anxious, or stuck? Do you experience emotional triggers that seem to come out of nowhere? Perhaps you’ve tried talk therapy before but still feel weighed down by trauma, PTSD (Post-traumatic Stress Disorder), or deep-seated emotional wounds.

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR Therapy) is a powerful, evidence-based approach that helps people heal from traumatic experiences. Whether you’re struggling with recent events that were troubling, unresolved pain from childhood trauma, or having difficulty reducing unhealthy coping mechanisms, this therapy can help your brain reprocess distressing memories so they no longer hold power over you. EMDR provides a structured way to release emotional burdens and regain control over your life.

As a certified EMDR therapist, I specialize in guiding clients through the healing process in a way that feels safe and is structured and effective. EMDR is not about reliving your trauma but rather helping your brain process it in a way that reduces its emotional charge. Many people find that EMDR leads to lasting relief, greater self-compassion, and a renewed sense of peace.

Healing is possible, no matter how long you’ve been carrying the weight of your past. If you’re ready to break free from the pain and find a way forward, EMDR may be the solution you’ve been searching for.

You’re Not Broken—You’re Human, and You’re Not Alone

If you’re considering EMDR Therapy, it likely means you’ve experienced something painful that still affects you today. Whether it’s a recent event or something that happened long ago, you may feel stuck in cycles of anxiety, depression, shame, or fear—and you’re not alone. Many people silently carry the impact of overwhelming life experiences, not realizing just how common this struggle is.

In fact, about 70% of adults in the U.S. have experienced some type of traumatic event at least once in their lives [1]. These experiences can range from childhood trauma and emotional abuse to car accidents, loss, or ongoing relational stress. Even events that don’t seem “big enough” to be called trauma can leave a lasting imprint on the nervous system.

Symptoms like difficulty trusting others, flashbacks, chronic low mood, or emotional numbness aren’t signs that you’re weak—they’re signs that your system has been trying to protect you. Whether you’re seeking EMDR for trauma, childhood trauma PTSD, depression, addictions or anxiety, what you’re feeling makes sense in the context of what you’ve lived through.

As an EMDR therapist, I see just how many people are living with unresolved pain and self-blame. The good news is: healing is possible. Therapy offers a compassionate space to process what’s happened without judgment, helping you reconnect with your strength, clarity, and sense of peace.

You’re not alone—and there is hope.

Experience True Relief from the Burden of the Past

Living with the lingering effects of trauma can feel like you’re carrying an invisible weight—always heavy, always there. Whether you’re struggling with flashbacks, overwhelming emotions, or a sense of being stuck, you may be looking for something deeper than just talk therapy. EMDR Therapy offers a path toward lasting relief and true healing.

As an EMDR therapist, I work with people who are ready to move through the emotional residue of painful experiences—not just manage symptoms, but truly shift what’s happening at the root. Whether the source of pain is a single traumatic event or years of chronic stress, my approach is grounded in helping your nervous system process and release what’s been held for far too long.

In our work together, we’ll start by creating a sense of safety and trust. We begin by discussing what’s bringing you in, identifying key memories and patterns, and exploring how trauma is currently affecting your life. I integrate EMDR for trauma with Internal Family Systems (IFS) and somatic strategies, tailoring each session to meet you where you are. We don’t rush into processing—we lay a solid foundation first. That means building skills to regulate your emotions, strengthen your inner resources, and increase your sense of control.

Once you’re ready, we begin the reprocessing phase. Through guided sets of eye movements or other forms of bilateral stimulation, EMDR helps your brain integrate distressing memories without becoming overwhelmed. Clients often find that emotions and beliefs that once felt stuck or intense begin to shift, often in ways that feel both natural and deeply relieving. This can be especially powerful when using EMDR for PTSD, childhood trauma and emotional abuse.

Sessions are collaborative and paced according to your needs. Some days we may spend time resourcing and building your resilience; other days may involve focused reprocessing of memories. I’ll always guide you with compassion, curiosity, and respect for your pace. Over time, clients often find themselves responding to life in new ways—with more ease, clarity, and a renewed sense of self.

With over a decade of experience specializing in trauma recovery, I’ve had the honor of walking alongside many individuals who’ve found transformation through this work. I regularly witness the profound shifts that can occur when someone shows up with courage and commitment to the process. If you’re ready to move beyond survival and into healing, I would be honored to support you.

Common Concerns About Starting EMDR Therapy

That’s a completely valid fear—and one I hear often. EMDR is designed to help you process difficult experiences without having to go into all the details. We’ll move at a pace that feels safe for you, and you’ll always have control over the process. It’s not about reliving your pain, but helping your brain and body release it. We’ll also build in grounding and calming tools to help you feel more supported between sessions.

When you’re already carrying a lot, adding one more thing can feel impossible. But EMDR for PTSD tends to be more focused and shorter-term than traditional talk therapy. Many clients start to notice relief within a few sessions. Therapy doesn’t have to take over your life—it can give you more energy and capacity by helping you heal the weight you’ve been carrying for so long.

It’s normal to be skeptical, especially if you’ve tried other types of therapy before that didn’t help as much as you hoped. EMDR has been extensively researched and proven effective for trauma, anxiety, and more. That said, it’s not a one-size-fits-all process. We’ll tailor it to your unique experience, and I’ll be there to guide and support you each step of the way.

If you’re curious about EMDR for trauma but not quite ready to dive in, that’s okay. Most people need time to feel comfortable before reaching out. I offer a free 15-minute phone or video consultation so you can ask questions, share what you’re looking for, and see if we’re a good fit—no pressure, no commitment. You’re welcome to reach out whenever you’re ready.
